Under Government Code section 11123(a), all meetings of a state body are open and public, and all persons are permitted to attend any meeting of a state body, except as otherwise provided in that article. The section further states that the portion of the teleconferenced meeting that is required to be open to the public must be audible to the public at the location specified in the notice of the meeting. The Commission may take action on any item listed on this agenda.

Call to order and establishment of a quorum.

2. Legislation: It is within the purview of the FPPC to sponsor legislation. Staff routinely provides technical advice to members of the Legislature who seek to introduce legislation pertaining to the Political Reform Act. There are several bills which have been introduced which staff has concluded will make much needed improvements to the Act. It is therefore requested that the Commission consider becoming an official sponsor of certain legislation.
