Form 700 Search
Every elected official and public employee who makes or influences governmental decisions is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests, also known as the Form 700. The Form 700 provides transparency and ensures accountability in two ways:
- It provides necessary information to the public about an official’s personal financial interests to ensure that officials are making decisions in the best interest of the public and not enhancing their personal finances.
- It serves as a reminder to the public official of potential conflicts of interest so the official can abstain from making or participating in governmental decisions that are deemed conflicts of interest (PDF).
The Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC), California’s governmental ethics and campaign disclosure agency, is pleased to announce the launch of its new online Public Official Financial Disclosure Portal. The public can use the portal to quickly and easily download Statements of Economic Interests (Form 700) and, for the first time ever, search the financial interests disclosed by elected and other high-level officials, including investments, sources of income, and gifts. This revolutionary new search tool provides free, online access to Form 700s and the financial interest data disclosed by officials, making it easier than ever to quickly identify the Form 700 data you need.
